However, after months of rumors floating around it seems it’s finally confirmed that the fan-favorite Harry Potter franchise is all set for a TV reboot, and with that, a comeback of J.K. Rowling’s involvement in the projects. An insider recently revealed in a podcast that the original plan was to go with a ninth movie with the adaptation of The Cursed Child. However, Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe and Hermione actor Emma Watson’s refusal to rejoin the franchise with J.K. Rowling, still in the mix after her series of transphobic comments over the recent years, has apparently put those plans on hold.
“J.K. is a very online conversation…It’s very nuanced and complicated and not something we’re going to get into”- HBO’s Chairman & CEO Casey Bloys stated while defending the decision to work with the Harry Potter author.
