WILMINGTON, N.C. (WRMT) – After being convicted on indecent exposure charges to women at two different businesses on Jan. 18, Desmond Jermal Mays, 36, appeared in court Wednesday on new charges.
The new charges involving Mays are regarding an arrest on Wednesday night, Nov. 29. Mays had two felony counts of kidnapping and one felony count of common law robbery.
During his court appearance, his bond was set at $600,000.
In April, Mays pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent exposure and one count of resisting an officer for exposing himself at a motel on Market Street and a store on Castle Street. According to court documents, during that incident, he fled police in the Hillcrest housing community.
Mays pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree trespassing after being previously banned from Wilmington Housing Authority property.
“The charges against Mays are the result of numerous investigative hours and hard work by the Wilmington Police Department Criminal Investigations Division,” a WPD announcement states.
