BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WRMT) — On Feb. 9, two people were charged with negligent child abuse/serious injury and involuntary manslaughter, per the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.
On Jan. 28, the BCSO responded to a call about cardiac or respiratory arrest at a home located on Heights Place in Leland.
Maximus Williams, an 8-month-old baby, died after deputies arrived.
The parents of the infant were Curtis Williams and Mollie Fischer. Upon investigating the tragedy, both parents were charged in connection to the child’s death.
Fischer and Williams both received a $250,000 secured bond, according to the BCSO website.
