WILMINGTON, N.C. (WRMT) — On Jan. 30, two people were arrested by the Coastal Carolina Trafficking Task Force, according to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
“On January 28, a missing person report was filed for a female last known to be in the Wilmington area. During the investigation, commercial sex ads were located for the female victim. It was revealed the victim was being held for ransom and forced to see commercial sex dates for her captures financial benefit,” an NHCSO announcement states.
On Jan. 30, the woman was recovered by the task force, NHCSO says.
“Dartez Faulk, 31, was arrested and charged with one count of 1st degree kidnapping, five counts of human trafficking, and 18 counts of promotion of prostitution. Rosalind Comfort, 48, was charged with one count of 1st degree kidnapping, five counts of human trafficking, and two counts of promotion of prostitution,” the NHCSO announcement continues.
According to the sheriff’s office, both Faulk and Comfort are being held on a $2 million secure bond at the county jail.
