WILMINGTON, N.C. (WRMT) — On Friday, Quaker Oats recalled several of its products, including granola bars and cereals, saying the foods could be contaminated with salmonella.
According to the Food and Drug Administration, if a person is infected with salmonella, you may experience symptoms like a fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and stomach pain.
In a news release, Quaker, which is owned by its parent company PepsiCo, said that it has not received any reports of salmonella infections related to the recalled granola products.
All 50 U.S. states have sold the affected products, Quaker said. If you believe you may have the recalled products, the company asks that you throw them away. You may receive a reimbursement from the company by calling its customer support line or visiting its recall website.
