SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WRMT) – On Tuesday, a house fire occurred around 8:15 p.m. in the 1100 block of N Caswell Ave and has been ruled suspicious by nature, according to Chief Charles Drew from Southport Fire Department.
At the time of the fire, the home was under reconstruction. No one was inside the home and no one was injured. However, at a nearby house, minor damage was found.
According to SFD, it took 30 minutes for the fire to be under control. The Southport PD and the Southport Fire Marshall’s Office are further investigating the situation. The reason for being ruled as suspicious was because no electricity was found inside the home, Chief Todd Coring with the police department says.
