WASHINGTON, D.C. (WRMT) — On Wednesday, the House of Representatives approved to authorize an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.
The effort led by House Speaker Mike Johnson and his team are looking into the business dealings of the Biden family with the goal to find corruption.
However, many Republicans believe that the investigation has yet to produce evidence of misconduct by the president.
Johnson said during a Fox News segment that he believes the vote will pass the House.
“We’ll be in the best position to do our constitutional responsibility,” Johnson said.
According to the Constitution, if an impeachment against Biden is successful and the Senate convicts him, he will be removed from office. If the vote passes the House, the impeachment investigation will extend well into 2024, when the president will be seeking reelection.

The White House said in a recent statement, Republicans continue “despite the fact that members of their own party have admitted there is no evidence to support impeaching President Biden.”
Nearly all House Republicans will have to vote in favor for the impeachment inquiry to continue. The GOP holds a 221-213 majority.
