WHITEVILLE, N.C. (WRMT) – On Monday, while attempting to give a person a ride near Whiteville, a man was shot in the face, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.
The man tried to give a person a ride at Camp Ground Road when he was suddenly shot in the face, a sheriff’s office representative says. According to the incident report, the time of the attack was at around 9:23 p.m.
The victim was taken by helicopter to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, CCSO says.
No update on the victim’s condition is available and the investigation is ongoing, according to CCSO.
