LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. (WRMT) — On Christmas, Lincoln County deputies arrested a Kentucky man after finding a missing teen inside a hidden trap door at his home.
Zackary Jone, 34, was having an altercation at 1400 block of Robertstown Road between Jones and his “girlfriend,” according to an arrest citation.
Jones walked the deputies throughout the home, the citation says. Deputies found drug paraphernalia with residue in plain view, with Jones attempting to grab it and dispose of it in a wood stove in his bedroom.
Upon seeing this, the deputies restrained him and continued to search the home for the female. The deputies found the 16-year-old girl inside a trap door that was hidden under a rug in Jones’ bedroom, the citation says.
In early December, she was reported missing in North Carolina. The teen told deputies that Jones had picked her up in North Carolina and brought her back to Kentucky.
The teen appeared to be “very high” when found, deputies say. Jones admitted to doing drugs with the teen and having a sexual relationship with her, according to the citation.
Jones was charged with assault, strangulation, unlawful transaction with a minor – illegal sex act, unlawful transaction with a minor – illegal controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
More charges could be coming for Jones in connection with the situation in North Carolina and Kentucky.
