MIAMI (WRMT) — In March, federal officials raided the Los Angeles and Miami homes of musician Sean Combs, more commonly known as Diddy.
According to the Associated Press, the move is part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation by Homeland Security. Since then, the department hasn’t confirmed the exact target of the investigation and the crimes involved.
The two raids on Combs’ homes and the multiple lawsuits alleging sexual assault, sexual misconduct, and sex trafficking are leading many to believe that is why the raid occurred.
Combs’ former girlfriend Casandra Ventura, famously known as Cassie, filed a lawsuit against him detailing allegations of rape, abuse, and drugging during their relationship. Since then, seven separate lawsuits have been brought against him.
However, Combs has consistently denied all the allegations made against him. In response to requests for comment after the raids, his attorney Aaron Dyer said in a statement:
“Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities. Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way. This unprecedented ambush — paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence — leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits. There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations. Mr. Combs is innocent.”

Many wealthy and powerful individuals in Combs’ social circle are openly accused by plaintiffs of wrongdoing. In some cases, they claim to have witnessed the abuse and not stopped it.
Combs has been surrounded by accusations of violence spanning decades — occasionally involving other very famous names.
Below is a list of well-known people linked to the accusations against Combs:
- Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge
- Justin Dior Combs
- Rapper Yung Miami
- R&B singer Aaron Hall
- Actor Cuba Gooding Jr.
- Music producer Harve Pierre
- DJ and producer Stevie J
